Check out 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. All items mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into the many special decks and collections on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which gamers can play big creatures onto the battlefield whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can affect non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a little (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see Sneak in future sets moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior game designer stated. “However in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the set by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “We designed to ensure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to offer the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT art. Wizards revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea is that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
