Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has apologised to supporters for his response when substituted in the recent intense Clasico clash triumph.
The Brazilian was replaced in the second half and showed his annoyance by heading directly to the dressing room.
He later returned to the dugout and, following his side's narrow triumph, sought to engage Barcelona's opposing player during unpleasant after the game exchanges.
"Today I want to say sorry to all the supporters for my reaction when I was taken off in the big match," the player shared on X.
"Similarly to I have previously expressed during this morning's practice, I wish to express regret anew to my teammates, the team, and the club president.
"Occasionally fervor takes over me because I continuously aim to succeed and assist my side. My winning mentality stems from the passion I have for this institution and each thing it represents."
The player signed for Madrid from Flamengo in recent years for a significant fee and has scored 111 goals in more than 300 games.
But his prospects in the La Liga is far from certain with speculation in lately stating that Los Blancos would consider allowing the young star move on if they obtained a appropriate bid.
When the winger was substituted on the match day, broadcast footage from network Dazn recorded him saying: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's preferable if I depart, I'm moving on."
In his new statement on X, the athlete stated: "I commit to keep fighting constantly for the good of the club, as I have performed since the very beginning."
